Installation Steps
1. Download and Prepare the Extension
- Download the extension .zip file
- Extract the “extension” folder to an accessible location (like your Desktop)
2. Install the Extension in your browser
- Open your browser and navigate to
chrome://extensions - Look for the “Developer mode” toggle somewhere near a corner of the browser
- Enable Developer mode
- Click the “Load unpacked” button that appears
- Navigate to and select the extension folder you extracted earlier
3. Converting Your Videos
Now that you’ve installed the extension, here’s how to use it:
- Return to mp3.tools YouTube to MP3 converter page
- You should see the extension working if you see “✓ MP3.Tools Extension Active (will use your YouTube cookies)” above the text field. If not, try refreshing the page
- Submit your conversion request
- Once the page refreshes, your download link will appear
Important Notes
- Make sure you’re logged into YouTube for the best conversion results
- Be patient with longer videos (60+ minutes) as they may take extra time to process
- Keep the page open until the conversion is complete
Troubleshooting
